about me

I am a literary translator working from Swedish and Russian into English, with a focus on contemporary fiction, children's fiction and narrative non-fiction. I hold an MA in translation theory and practice (the Scandinavian languages, Russian and French into English, UCL, 2014), and in 2015 I was awarded the British Centre for Literary Translation’s Emerging Translator mentorship for Russian.

As a translator, I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of texts, including works by Maxim Osipov (shortlisted for the 2020 Read Russia Prize), Katrine Marçal, Andrés Stoopendaal, Camilla Sten and Anne Swärd. For a taste of some of these works, please see translations, or contact me for further information.

I am editor of Swedish Book Review, which presents contemporary Swedish-language literature to the English-speaking world.

I am a member of both the Translators' Association (Society of Authors) and SELTA (the Swedish-English Literary Translators' Association).

Having lived in Moscow, Paris, Stockholm and Uppsala, I now call London home.
